#WomanEmpowermentWednesday Greer Garson and "She M'Daisy" in Random Harvest (1942)

Although "Random Harvest" was a film adaptation of a popular novel, its two main characters brought plenty of characterization ideas and notes. Meeting up privately with director Mervyn LeRoy, producer Sidney Franklin and the writers, Greer Garson came up with the problem they were having to present her character of Paula on stage. She was the one to suggest Harry Lauder's standard "She M'Daisy" in a short kilt. Although Louis B. Mayer was skeptical on the length hurting her image as a more refined actress at first, producer Sidney Franklin jokingly offered her an office in the writer's building.
